Poor physical health in adults with learning disabilities
This project looked at the physical health of adults with learning disabilities.
What we did
Doctors and Nurses collected information about the physical health of 1023 adults with learning disabilities living in Greater Glasgow.
What we found
We looked at this information and found that people with learning disabilities have a lot of physical health problems.
These can be painful, disabling and potentially life threatening.
We also found that most people with learning disabilities had more than one physical health problem.
What we will do next
A report has been written and it has been published in a health journal.
We will share our findings.
